International Conference: Judges' Assessment, Mediation and Justice for Minors
On April 28-29, 2017, the International Scientific and Practical Conference on the topic: “On mutual exchange of knowledge on questions of evaluation of courts, medicine and justice on cases in the consideration of persons who have not reached the age of majority” was held, signing the Memorandum of the Association of Judges. Conference took place in the city. Tbilisi (Georgia).
The conference was attended by Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia Irakliy Kobakhidze, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs Eka Beselia and parliamentarians, who spoke about their experience and joint work with the judicial branch of the authorities in preparing draft laws.
The questions on the application by the courts of Moldova, Ukraine, Germany, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania of the experience of assessing the performance of judges, judicial mediation and justice in juvenile cases were considered.
Judges from the USA, Portugal, Moldova, Ukraine, Germany, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia spoke with the reports.
The speakers of the Supreme Courts of Georgia — Nino Gvenetadze, Latvia — Ivars Bychkovich, Lithuania, Judge of the Supreme Court of Portugal — Mario Morgado, Judge of the Federal Court of Virginia USA Anthony J. Trenga, President of the Association of Judges of Germany Jens Gniza, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Justice of Ukraine — BENEDESYUK I.M., who shared the experience of their countries in the preparation and evaluation of the work of judges, the use of judicial mediation.
Guests also took part: Chairman of the High Council of Justice of Ukraine BENEDESYUK I.M. and Mamontov Council member I.V.
Judges of the Supreme Specialized Court of Ukraine for Civil and Criminal Cases EVTUSHENKO O.I. (President of the Association of Judges of Ukraine), OLIYNYK A.S. (member of the High Council of Justice) and Judge of the Court of Appeal of Chernivtsi Oblast POTOTSKY V.P. participated from Ukraine.
April 29, 2017 in the city. Tbilisi hosted an annual meeting of the participants of the memorandum of representatives of European countries, which discussed the issues of cooperation and further cooperation. Participation in the memorandum from Ukraine was accepted by the judge of the Supreme Specialized Court of Ukraine for the consideration of civil and criminal cases, President of the Association of Judges of Ukraine Yevtushenko O.I.
It was decided to elect the Secretariat of Memorandum members — Secretary Vakhtang Tordia (Georgia), Musabek Alimbekov (Kazakhstan) as the head, approved the amount of the contribution for the corresponding operation of the Memorandum website, resolved the issue of admission of new members, approved the following work plan for period.
Georgia's experience in cooperation between the Parliament of Georgia and the judicial branch of government — the Supreme Court of Georgia in favor of state interests is positive, when bills are discussed jointly there is mutual respect, there are no accusations of certain violations, as evidenced by the preparation of the draft law on the responsibility of persons in arbitrariness and baseless accusations Judges and Courts.
