Report on the Participation of Members of the Association of Judges of Ukraine in the Congress of the European Association of Judges

May 24-26, 2018 in the city. Berlin (Germany) held a congress of the European Association of Judges. The All-Ukrainian NGO “Association of Judges of Ukraine” delegated its members to participate in the congress. The congress was attended by: President of the Association of Judges of Ukraine Olena Ivanovna Yevtushenko, President of the Association of Judges of Ukraine. Kyiv Strizheus Anatoly Mykolaiovych and Judge of Mukachevo City District Court of Transcarpathian Region Margitych Oksana Ivanovna.

The official opening of the congress took place on May 24, 2018. Speeches were made by: President of the European Judges Association — Jose Igreja Matos, President of the German Judges Association — Jens Gnisa and Federal Minister of Justice and Consumer Protection — Dr. Katarina Barley.

The main topic discussed at the congress is the independence of justice and the dangers for ensuring legality in Europe. Participation in such international meetings is of great importance because it deepens the awareness of judges with international norms of law, enhances interaction and communication between judges of different countries, taking into account the experience of European countries and judges considering different cases, fosters further friendly relations between judges.
