Spring Meeting of the European Judges Association 2023
The 2023 EAS Spring Meeting opened on 1 June 2023 in Athens with the participation of key representatives: MIU President Jose Igreh Matos, First President of IAU and EAS Douro Sessa, Vice-Presidents of MIKAEL Šoberg and Sabine Mateyka, as well as Deputy Secretary-General MAYU Galileo D'Agostino and Raffaele Gargüello.
During the meeting, the Assembly discussed problems arising in several countries and adopted resolutions on:
- Armenia
- Bulgaria
- Croatia
- France
- Lithuania
- Romania


On 01-03 June 2023, a congress of the European Association of Judges was held in Athens (Greek Republic). The All-Ukrainian NGO “Association of Judges of Ukraine” delegated its members to participate in the congress.
The congress was attended by: Judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Viktor Gorodovenko and Judge of the Supreme Specialized Court of Ukraine for Civil and Criminal Cases (retired) Olena Yevtushenko.
At the congress Viktor Gorodovenko and Olena Yevtushenko expressed gratitude to the associations of judges of the European Courts for the support of Ukraine and Ukrainian judges in such difficult times.
In his report, Viktor Gorodovenko drew attention to the fact that in such difficult times for Ukraine, the main task of Ukrainian judges is the full functioning in the conditions of martial law and the support of judges of European countries.
Elena Yevtushenko presented a video review of damaged Ukrainian courts and told about the state of justice in the conditions of war in 2023.
The main topic discussed at the congress was the independence of justice, protection, freedom and the danger of the rule of law in Europe. Resolutions were adopted in the countries of France, Croatia, the Republic of Armenia, Bulgaria and Lithuania.
